This year due to the increases in the price of grain we will only be able to confirm the price of our free range turkeys in late October or early November. If you want to order a free range turkey you can place a pre-order for the size you want and pay a small deposit. When we know the final price of these turkeys we will email you with an invoice for the balance - if you don't wish to order at that stage we will refund your deposit in full.
This special product is a quick frozen free range turkey which has not been hung, is un-aged and is frozen within 1 day of killing. This will help to reduce the development of histamine in the meat and is helpful for people who are trying to reduce the histamine content of their diet.
The birds themselves are our fantastic bronze fresh free range turkeys, reared in County Down, Northern Ireland. Perfectly matured to give a delicate tenderness, these pasture fed turkeys develop a delicious flavour from being allowed to roam and graze on 160 acres of fresh grass. Grown to maturity slowly for best flavour, our free range bronze turkeys are reared especially for Christmas, and are ready for sale as a fresh bird only in December.
Our bronze turkeys are from specialist heritage turkey Bronze stock, but it's not just their aristocratic pedigree make these birds the choicest turkeys available. The birds feed on a diet of grains, wheat, as well as a high percentage of native grasses, seeds and insects. Each bird is plucked and processed by hand to maintain the highest quality. This results in a superb bird with a naturally firm and moist meat, with an authentic deep slightly gamey turkey flavour.
Our free range Turkeys are now grazing on lush grass and will be finished on farm grown wheat in November. You can place a pre-order for a fresh free range turkey now. All turkeys are oven ready, and include their giblets in a separate sealed bag.

We will ship these quick frozen birds out in the week from 5th December to 9th December. The last Parcelforce shipment will be Friday 9th December for delivery on Friday 10th December.

These birds can be delivered by our own driver on Saturday 10th December & Saturday 17th December.
Storage and cooking
To minimise histamine development this product should be kept frozen, thawed quickly and cooked immediately after thawing. Quick cooking (e.g. Pressure cooking) is preferable to slow cooking such as roasting or cooking in a slow cooker.
When cooked it should be eaten immediately, or refrozen as cooked meat immediately - it should not be kept as cooked chicken in the fridge as histamine will continue to develop in cooked meat unless frozen.
