Proper free range bronze turkeys
Our free range bronze turkeys are reared in small free range outdoor flocks in County Antrim. They enjoy access to acres of lush pasture. The Bronze Turkey chicks are started in February, allowing ten months to develop the full breast of a properly fattened bird for the Christmas table.
All the birds are locked in at night in wooden houses to protect them from foxes. They graze on fresh green grass during the day, and foliage and grass accounts for a large part of their diet with the rest made up of wheat intensifying the flavour of the meat. They are given no routine drugs or antibiotics. After killing they are plucked and game hung to develop their flavour.
